Welcome to Diary Of A Mad Fat Man. This is the first post on diaryofamadfatman.com but I have been posting on and off for years on my free blog http://diaryofamadderfatterman.wordpress.com. Over time I will migrate some of my favorite posts from that site to this one. For now, though, let fill you in on what it is I plan to do here.
Diary Of A Mad Fat Man has been a long time coming. It started out as a free blog chronicling my journey to improved health and well-being. My paternal grandfather passed away at the age of 39, when my father was only 11 years old. Although I never knew him, my grandfather’s premature and sudden death had always weighed heavily on my mind and heart. Now, as a father myself, one of my greatest fears is that something will happen to me and as a result, my children will grow up without a father. It was this fear that started me on my journey all those years ago and although there have been setbacks along the way, I have always returned to my goal of improving my health and well being in an effort to stay around for my kids.
Over the years I have written about struggles and milestones. I have talked about successes and setbacks. Along they way something else happened. I started to write about other topics that are relevant to my life. I’ve written about my job as a healthcare provider. I’ve shared some of the struggles we faced as healthcare providers during the height of the COVID 19 pandemic. I’ve also talked about psychology, philosophy, culture, technology and what it means to be a leader. To say my interests are diverse would be an understatement. But, through the writing of all of these posts I was able to see a greater vision for this website.
My hope is that Diary Of A Mad Fat Man will become a community of sorts. I’d like to see readers and contributors stop by and share their thoughts time and again. I hope that others may find inspiration in some of the things I write or that maybe a conversation will help to give a reader or contributor the motivation to make a positive change in their life. My vision for Diary Of A Mad Fat Man knows no limits. I hope that this site can turn into a positive place for people to interact and that content will be fresh, relevant and meaningful. I have included a short list detailing parts of my vision for this site:
- Embed Diary Of A Mad Fat Man Podcast
- Incorporate a social networking app to truly build a community of people with varied interests looking to engage in conversation and share thoughts
- Create a creative space for creative people
So, without further ado, I give you Diary Of A Mad Fat Man!
